You have a disadvantage that I don't and that is, you look at what Jesus said as a Christian. I look at what Jesus says and what Buddha says and what the Hindus believe.

SingaporeMacross SG

no worries, continue your discerning... you will look for what you need eventually..

Pls refer to the other thread which I have already explained.

1 & 2 is a result of god's grace thru the believer, it is not a requirement for salvation, but rather than a result of believing in our lord jesus.

The reson I am debating the Christians AND the Buddhists is to remind them of what their beliefs are. Some have good understanding of what and why they believe. Others seemed to be on very shaky ground.

SingaporeMacross SG

do you have the correct answers?

laoda99 SG

We should bear in mind that God's laws has been fulfilled once and for all thru Christ. It is not a requirement for salvation contrary to what stated by Brey.

Keep god's commands as love for our lord, not becoz we want to earn our way to heaven.

laoda99 SG

God's redemption for the Jews are covered by his covenant with them.

For Christians, redemption is thru Christ's work on the cross, not by any works or keeping commandments.

You also forget, if any man can keep the commandments, he will have eternal life. The two commandments you say you are aware of, love the Lord thy God and love thy neighbour as thyself, sum up all the TEN.

Please explain the part in bold.

M©+square SG

He meant.

If any men manage to attain keeping to the TEN commandments. He'll confirm go heaven without any doubt.
But none have attained.

EH become tensed and hyper sensitive. Laughing

Icemoon SG

so in their covenant, what do the Jews have to do?

breytonhartge SG

bingo! i think laoda should read that statement very carefully again.

Icemoon SG

huh .. so you are helping them strengthen their belief??

laoda99 SG

In the OT, Remission of sins is only possible by the shedding of blood.

After Christ came, Christ's sacrifice is once and complete. By insisting on keeping god's commandments to earn his love is to rob god of his glory (salvation in saving us thru his grace).

Icemoon SG

but the shedding of blood is to be done at the Temple right?

today no Temple liao then how?

laoda99 SG

We have Christ. Christ's work is complete. Please refer to my other threads.

Icemoon SG

I mean for the Jews today.

laoda99 SG

I have read your statements very carefully, and I implore u not to confuse fellow Christians about commandments. It is not a requirement for us to enter heaven.
